I knew early on that I didn’t want to engage with the world in the way that I was conditioned to. I grew up in one of the richest towns in the world as a daughter of school teachers. I saw a lot of wealth in my community, but not a lot of happiness, integrity, or positive influence. I learned first hand that we aren’t lacking in resources, we are lacking in alignment of how those resources and that privilege are shared.
After a few short years in the corporate world after graduating college, I rebelled against a society that told me fulfillment could only come from a 9-5 corporate job and started my journey toward impact by becoming a licensed art therapist. I worked in social work doing family therapy for many years. I gave everything I had to my clients and burnt out. I realized that I was playing an un-winnable game: trying to fix the symptoms of larger systemic challenges like poverty, racism, sexism, and unresolved generational trauma.
I knew that real change would take a village. A village of leaders, purpose-driven companies, and social entrepreneurs who collectively could shift these systems to “lift all boats”. Shortly thereafter I founded the Right Brain Entrepreneur, a company designed to empower business owners and companies with the tools to think differently, activate sustainable and accelerated growth, and create social change.
Since then, my mission has grown to address systemic inequities, and incorporate the mind – body work I’ve done to transform chronic pain. Over the course of the last 14 years, I’ve coached hundreds of individuals, spoken on small and large stages to executives and founders, and led multiple group training programs. More importantly, I have created an impact-driven business on my terms, that enables me to rest, practice yoga, sing with an award-winning A capella chorus, build a diverse and inclusive community through anti-racism work, and explore new cultures through travel. I rarely work more than 25 hours a week (we weren’t meant to work 40 hours anyway!) and stand for a new paradigm where we can have both purpose-driven work and spaciousness, rest, and play.
My life’s purpose is to break generation cycles through love and compassion. I fulfill on this through my own inner work, in healing my relationships, and in supporting my clients toward building a better future through a new paradigm of leadership that includes mind, body, and spirit.
